Have you ever bought something online or in a store that you ended up loving so much, that you just had to tell all your friends and relatives about it? I mean, you loved it so much to the point where you swear up and down about how great the product or the service is and you think it would be marked as a cardinal sin if you didn’t tell all of who you know about how great the product or service is? Well, welcome to 2024, where you can get paid outstanding money to do exactly that.
This form of business is called affiliate marketing, and believe it or not, its actually been around for a lot longer than 2024 and it actually works. Basically, in a nutshell, you sign up to be a part of a brand’s affiliate program and they grant you a unique identifying link. You post about it on social media in a video or blog, or even word of mouth and you get paid off of commission for every sale that you refer through that unique link. I know this sounds too good to be true, but I’m going to show you exactly how you can make bank just from doing affiliate marketing. In fact, on average, people see anywhere between $40,000 to $60,000/ year as a beginner from affiliate marketing. Let that sink in.
There are so many reasons why you should consider affiliate marketing. For one, its completely free to do, and it doesn’t take any experience at all to succeed in this business. You just have to be convincing and most importantly, good at displaying the benefits of having the said product or service. So, let’s get right to it. Here I’ll show you a step by step process of how to get setup and put yourself in the position to earn exceptional income just from affiliate marketing. Here’s how:
- Pick a Niche
- Create a Website
- Apply for Affiliate Programs
- Start Promoting!
1. Pick a Niche
Although each step mentioned above is extremely important, I would have to say this is one step that you want to take your time with. Think about what you truly enjoy spending your hard-earned money on and what you genuinely enjoy doing in your free time. The answer to these questions will help you determine what niche you should go into for your affiliate business. This will make things a lot easier for you down the road when you get to the part of promoting your affiliate business. You want to be able to work with products and services that you genuinely would advocate for even if you knew you weren’t going to receive any money for it. So seriously, don’t skimp out on this step. This step lays the foundation of your success in this business.
2. Create a Website
Earlier, I mentioned that this business is completely free to do. Well, that is partially true. It actually depends on how you go about doing this. The way I recommend actually does cost money but not much. If anything, you will spend up to $15/month and that is just for the hosting platform for your website. Wherever you go to create your website, you will need a hosting platform in order to make your website accessible online. Some website platforms already have one that comes complimentary with the website itself. But if you are going to create a website through WordPress, you will need a hosting platform in order for people to view your website.
I use Bluehost and it works great with WordPress websites, which happens to be the best website creator that works exceptionally well with Google’s search engine. It is free to create a website on WordPress, but there is a monthly fee to pay (see image above) to keep the web hosting active throughout the year.
This is very important because the more compatible your site is with Google, the more traffic you will receive on your site increasing the odds of sale referrals.
But, if you’re running on a tight budget as is, then you can easily work with Shopify. If you sign up with Shopify using this link, you can get access to their platform for $1/month for 90 days. This is a great promotional offer for people who aren’t the most affluent with the web and more importantly on a strict budget.
3. Apply for Affiliate Programs
Once you have your website up and running, you can begin applying for affiliate programs. The key here is to look for brands that sell products and services that you actually like.
Again, think of it as something you would truly enjoy getting use out of even if you weren’t getting paid to do it. If you’re not sure where exactly to apply just yet, you can go to sites like impact, Clickbank, and Amazon Associates and apply there.
These sites will likely accept your application right away so you can start earning as soon as possible. Upon viewing all the deals available for you to market, you will immediately see that there is in fact, serious money to be made here. So, don’t let any more time pass by, and get all of this setup now so you can start earning income as fast as possible.
4. Start Promoting
Honestly, there are so many ways that you can go about promoting the brands that you’re affiliated with. You can start a podcast or even have an active newsletter dedicated to special product finds.
Typically, most affiliate marketers either blog or make Youtube videos to promote their products, but it doesn’t have to be done this way, this is just a way of promoting products that works well for most people.
Another great way to promote your affiliate business (this method is extremely underrated by the way) is through Pinterest. Pinterest is the largest visual search engine on the internet, so you’ll want to be creative with how you make your pins. The best tool to use for this is Canva.
Canva is free to use, and there are so many designs and styles to choose from to up the quality of the content you create. They do have a Canva pro version which is also great, but it’s not necessary.
Once you create your content, include your affiliate links and post! that ‘s it! Before you know it, you’ll be earning your way up to $2,000+/month and have a great stream of passive income in your name to use at your disposal!
Is Affiliate Marketing For You?
In all seriousness, this side hustle is not in anyway a “get rich quick” scheme and will definitely take some time for you to see consistent results as far as seeing any income generated from it.
Most people typically see a consistent payout month to month from affiliate marketing 6 months to 1 year after starting. You can shorten the time gap with this by creating more content and posting your content frequently.
If you are promoting through social media accounts or Pinterest, you’re going to want to post anywhere between 1-2x a day. If you’re blogging or posting video content of any kind, you’ll really want to get into the habit of posting 2-3x a week. This is a business where consistency and being patient really pays off.
If you are neither consistent with your work or patient, I will be the first person to tell you that affiliate marketing won’t be a great fit for you. If the idea of making money online from your home interests you, there are many other passages that you can explore to start making money online and this is only one (yet super effective) way to make money online as a beginner, so don’t get discouraged.
But if you are someone who can play the long game and is consistent in working the process, I can absolutely guarantee to you that you will be making outstanding money and the best part of it all is that eventually it will flood your bank account consistently to where you won’t have to do much else at that point to continue earning income from your affiliate marketing business. This business model actually leads to passive income down the road, when done right.
Conclusion
All in all, this is a great way to get your feet wet with online business and monetizing online because it requires little to no money to get started, and it does not require any experience to succeed in this business at all.
It technically is a form of passive income that can pay you down the road even when you are no longer creating content to promote such brands and services either. So, what are you waiting for? There is no better time to hop on this opportunity and rake in life-changing supplemental income. As always, cheers friends and best of luck with your business venture!
